Ordinary people doing extraordinary things are Merelyn Carter's Ordinary Angels.
"My guest for this second episode is Tim Costello - former CEO of World Vision Australia, former Mayor of St. Kilda, Criminal Lawyer, Baptist Minister and long term advocate and educator around the complex issues of poverty - material, emotional, spiritual, relational. This interview in his current role as World Vision Australia's Chief Advocate was an enlightening and uplifting experience.
Firstly I love his heart - it not only bleeds for the poor, but it convicts him to continue to understand the complexities surrounding life in general and poverty in particular and implores him to take action.
Tim's knowledge is immense on the subject of humanity and his views are thought provoking, encouraging and at times controversial.
In 2006 Tim was named Victoria’s Australian of the Year, in June 2005 was made an Officer of the Order of Australia (AO); in 2004, was named Victorian of the Year; and in 1997 was named as one of Australia’s 100 National Living Treasures.
He certainly is a treasure and one I am proud to know.
Please join me for my Ordinary Angels podcast with Tim Costello, join the conversation and perhaps expand your perspective on this topical issue and how we can contribute to its solutions." Merelyn Carter
