How Can I Serve?
Anticipation, Expectations, Responsibilities, Freedoms
Wrap around me like a warm summer's mist
Swirling, flowing, touching every part of me
As I breathe into my body
Touching my mind
My soul
The days ahead hold me as
Wife
Mother
Grandmother
Friend
Outstretched arms offer nurture
Dedication, compassion, empathy, discernment, humour
Love both sweet and heavy draws me
To honesty
Originality
Authenticity
Truth
As I honour those of my heart and blood
The days ahead herald me as
Singer of songs
Teller of stories
Weaver of rhyme
Exposer of heart
The spotlight entices me to
Be
Speak
Share
Teach
The light exposes my strengths
And my flaws
Laying me vulnerable before those who gather in hope
The days ahead cry out to me as
Worker of the land
Keeper of the faith
Custodian of promises
Harbinger of good news
Healer of hurts
Contemplator of life
The scales are exposed
And yet I feel no measure
No desire to weigh in
No need to be accounted
With or without scales I seek balance
Equal measures of
Hopes, dreams, needs, wants
Giving, receiving, being, doing
Action, rest, joy, peace
The days ahead demand a question
The Trinity within responds
'How can I serve?'
